Benefits of professional development to serve your children well
Everyone benefits from continuous professional development to stay engaged, connected and stimulated in their careers and endeavors. Throughout our lives, we are always learning to improve our skills, relationships and interactions with others.

The benefits are numerous:
  • Fosters lifelong learning to enhance our Montessori practices and stay current with the latest developments in child psychology and education.
  • Provides opportunities to reflect on our mission and core values while also offering time for each person to craft their personal mission statement as to “why” they love what they do.
  • Acknowledges and reinforces our passion and commitment to nurturing the whole child so they can excel academically, socially, and emotionally to be kind, purposeful, happy, and successful people.
  • Helps improve verbal and non-verbal communication skills with colleagues, coworkers, and children for greater understanding, collaboration and effectiveness.

A history of continuous learning

Dr. Maria Montessori, the founder of the Montessori philosophy of childhood education and development more than 100 years ago, believed in continuous education. According to her biography, she asked for the foundation of medical-academic institutes and a special training for teachers working with special needs children. This idea of social reform through education further developed and matured in Montessori’s thinking and philosophy about effective childhood development and education throughout her life. “It is not enough for the teacher to love the child. She must first love and understand the universe. She must prepare herself, and truly work at it, ” said Montessori. She understood that teachers can never learn too much or be too prepared to meet the needs of children.

Being the best teachers we can be

At the heart of Apple Montessori Schools, we are devoted to nurturing the whole child intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically and ethically – all in a caring, safe, and fun environment. We are proud of the work we do every day to help children and families thrive in the communities we serve. The impact we have as teachers, guides, and caretakers affects so many lives in a profound way for generations to come.

“The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn.” ― Maria Montessori
